Start with the symptom

You do not need a fully scoped brief to get in touch. The most useful first message describes what is going wrong: a pipeline that cannot be re-run, reports that disagree with each other, data quality issues found by customers, a cost line that keeps climbing, or an AI initiative waiting on data that is not ready.

What happens next

We arrange a 30-minute call. On that call we ask about the platforms in use, who owns the data today, and what the business consequence of the problem is. If a focused engagement makes sense, we describe what it would cover and what it would not. If it does not, we say so.

What to bring

  • The symptom, described in business terms rather than technical ones
  • Which platforms are involved: Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Fabric, or a mix
  • Roughly how much data and how many source systems are in scope
  • Any hard deadlines, such as a migration date or an audit

We work with organisations across New Zealand and are based in the same time zone, so scheduling is straightforward. If you are evaluating several providers, that is fine too: an honest opinion about whether an engagement is warranted is more useful to both sides than a proposal written to fit.

Details of what we do are on the services page, and the way engagements run is on how we work.

Questions we are asked

Do you work with an existing internal team? Yes, and that is the usual arrangement. The work is designed so your team can operate it afterwards, which means including them during delivery rather than presenting a finished system at the end.

Can you work with a platform we have already chosen? Yes. Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure Fabric are the platforms we work with most, and the engineering discipline is the same on each: contracts, idempotency, reconciliation, and monitoring.

What if we only have a suspicion that something is wrong? That is a normal starting point. A short read-only review of the pipelines in question is usually enough to confirm whether the suspicion is correct and what it would take to resolve.

Do you provide ongoing support? Engagements are scoped as pieces of work with a defined end. If ongoing help is wanted afterwards, that is a separate, explicit arrangement rather than an assumption.
